SXM PE's First Legal Complaint Letter!
It was bound to happen, sooner or later a lawyers letter would arrive complaining about the content of some blog or comment on SXM PE. Being a blog site and forum that is trying to promote and encourage free speech, debate, discussion and dialogue in and about St. Maarten, I think the fact we lasted 3 1/2 years is good sign. I have to say, it's not easy being a moderator of SXM PE. Let's be honest and frank here, free speech, speaking your mind without fear and rational discussion and debate within the community hasn't really been encouraged over the years now, has it.
Anyway, yes, we got a letter from a US Law firm claiming that SXM PE and content posted on it had damaged their clients reputation and business. It demands we remove the all the content that refers the their client and refrain from ever discussing the matter, the client or his business again. This blog is our response to it.
