Open Thread - 29th June 2009
Well, I can't force people to post blogs can I? lol.
So, a return of the SXM PE weekly Open Thread is in order I think, a place where events of the day, issues you want to bring up or general banter can take place.
I would like to remind users that you can also comment on news stories in the News Section and post Announcements of events, no charge :) The Classified Ads section is now working, there are a couple bugs and you end up having to post the ad twice (you'll see), but if you have something to sell, or looking for something feel free to give it a try and make an ad. Also free :)

The usual weekly Open Thread. I'm not sure how much need there is for Open Threads now as comments can be made directly to news stories and users can now post blogs. We shall see eh? :)

Open Thread - 6th April 2009
Another delay for the new site I'm sad to say, but there are very good reasons I and I expect most regular visitors to this site will understand, I can assure the writer of this comment that this site is certainly not dead. You know how stores close for inventory, well it's something like that. Over the past 4 years we have built up a library of almost 15,000 news stories and blogs and making sure we transfer them all to the new site in an organized manner is going to be more work than we envisioned. I think readers will understand that ensuring this data base integrates into the new site is rather important.
We have decided that the best way to do this is to go through it all and reclassify it to fit the new filing system of the new site, obviously this is going to take some time. On top of this task, there is also the matter of several hundred news stories that were scanned over the past few years that were not added to the site, this needs to be done before the change over. With the coming long weekend holiday it gives us a little breathing space to do all this.
I am very confident that the new site will be worth the wait and we have something very special to launch with. Stay tuned :)

One more week to get it right. I realize this is taking longer than planned, but I don't want to rush it and make mistakes. I am also having to go off island this week and will have little time for blogging. Patience grasshoppers!

Open Thread - 16th March 2009
Almost done! Slow on here at the moment I know, I've been busy on the new site while at the same time trying to keep the threads up to date on here. Voodoo and LH are off island and Hady is missing in action. Hopefully we will get back on the ball once the new site is up and attract a few new people to take a stab at blogging.
We are now on the final stages and then have the headache of transferring everything over, I am estimating about a week or so. Till then please feel free to use this Open Thread for topical stuff :)

I know a couple blog posts are in the works, but I'm too busy myself to write much. I am keeping the threads up to date though, you can find news from the last week in them. Working on planning a new filing and submission system for the new site right now. Another week - 10 days and hopefully we will be ready.

Open Thread - 23rd February 2009
It's going to be a slow week when it comes to blogging as those who are able will be helping me update the Threads Library that you can find on the right hand side. There are several hundred scanned news stories that we have saved and that should be filed, we want to get as much done as possible before the rebuild which starts this week. At the same time we have to work on building the new site and putting in place a better input and filing system for the Library.
